Amica’s first gas/coal cooker was produced in Wronki in 1957. Today, the company draws on its 50 years of experience in the industry to manufacture and market cookers and a range of other contemporary and stylish products designed to make household tasks easier.
During its early days as a market player, Amica perfected its range of heating equipment to earn the brand its reputation as a quality manufacturer. After the privatisation of the company in 1994, and the flotation on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 1996, Amica invested in a modern refrigerator factory, which now produces more than 400,000 fridges, freezers and fridge-freezers of various types.
In 2000, the company added washing machines to its appliance range when it opened one of the most modern washing machine factories in Europe. Amica's product porfolio currently includes modern, electronically programmed range cookers, fridges and washing machines. Its broad and varied commercial range, which is increasing in popularity, includes both freestanding and built-in products. Amica's extensive range of household appiances also includes vacuum cleaners, irons, kettles and toasters, which perfectly complement the company’s core range.
Amica appliances produced in Wronki are now very well known throughout the European markets. Over 50% of the company’s production is currently exported, and its plans for the next few years are expected to generate further growth in export sales. The Eastern market, where its share of exports has experienced dynamic growth, is a very important investment area for Amica.
However, the most significant investment in export growth has been the company’s purchase of the Danish manufacturing and trading company Gram Domestic, a strong and popular brand name throughout the Scandinavian market. As well as giving Amica an acquisition of the rights to the Gram brand, this development made it possible to exploit the Danish firm's existing distribution channels and paved the way for further dynamic expansion of Amica’s export business, forming the foundation for growth into the European markets.
